Parole Board Meeting To Decide Fate Of Former GREAT WHITE Tour Manager

According to The Associated Press, the state parole board will decide whether to grant parole to the man imprisoned for igniting pyrotechnics that sparked a deadly nightclub fire four years ago.

Daniel Biechele, the former tour manager for the rock band GREAT WHITE, is eligible for parole after serving one-third of his four-year prison sentence.

The parole board was meeting Wednesday to decide whether to release him early from prison.

The February 2003 fire at The Station nightclub in West Warwick killed 100 people and injured more than twice that many. It began when pyrotechnics used by Biechele at the start of a concert ignited flammable soundproofing foam around the stage.

Biechele pleaded guilty last year to 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter. He admitted lighting the devices without the required permit.
